There are many factors to consider when deciding whether a tree can be felled, but if this is acheivable it is far easier and less expensive to dismantle a tree on the ground. Often we use a rope and the tractor or a winch mounted on the front of the ute to assist the direction of fall. Even small trees can be difficult when tangled so having the means to remove vegetation safely is essential. Wind fallen trees can also be extremely dangerous if hung up in another or held up by their own limbs. Machinery can eliminate a lot of this danger. Quite a few of my clients like to do their own firewood, so only want help to get a tree down and maybe cut up a big log or two.
